How Does A Normal Heart Work?
The heart works like a pump, pushing blood towards the body. The heart’s natural electrical system works to balance the heart rate. The upper part of the heart has its own pacemaker, called the science node. The electrical movement starts from the science node, and travels to the atria or upper cells. As a result, they shrink. These electrical impulses reach the place where the atria meet through the lower ventricles.
This place is called the AV node. The AV nodes push it into the ventricles through the muscles, and compress them. When the ventricles contract, they push blood flow to the rest of the body.
Why does my baby’s heart need a pacemaker to work normally?
